In Pound’s appreciative critique of the SonatesSauvages, he seems to intuit the future project that would draw the unlikely duo together:

“The first of these sonatas ‘does it,’ the base is really a basis, the music rises and acts above it, like a projectile carrying a wire and cutting, defining the three dimensions of space” (Antheil 49-50).  Of course, with your frequency hopping ideas, you made it possible to dispense with the wire, and Antheil found a way for the multilayered, shifting frequencies to be coded and decoded from sender to receiver as they directed the torpedo on its unimpeded way.
